I’m Kelly, a homeschooling mom and teacher who creates inspiring ideas for busy classroom teachers, homeschooling families, and friends learning their way around the kitchen, garden and home so they can lead simple, meaningful lives.

Happily Ever Creative develops educational curriculum and supports teachers, homeschooling families and simple life seekers with fresh, innovate ideas that get more exciting each year. My story begins as a teenager. While my friends were waiting for their teen fashion magazines to show up in their mailboxes, I was eagerly anticipating the next issue of The Mailbox, the idea magazine for teachers. I still had several years of high school to complete, but the planning and the excitement of the possibility of having my very own classroom was a wonderful thought, and in my world, I couldn’t start planning too early.
In fact, when I finally had my very own kindergarten classroom I would spend hours planning and creating with the goal of making each day magical and engaging for my students.
I quickly became known as the Mary Poppins of teaching, often leaving a trail of glitter dust and markers as I walked down the hallway. I carried (and still do) a black bag bursting with creative ideas that I loved to share. Seeing children grow and become life learners is my passion. Here I am, on a bigger platform, to share my ideas with you. Yes! You’re right! I’ll be needing a bigger black bag. Welcome to Happily Ever Creative!

I never looked back and earned my B.A., Elementary Education (Governor’s State University) (Double Minor: English and Social Science) M.Ed., Curriculum and Instruction (Olivet Nazarene University). I’ve had plenty of time to settle into this profession from being a nanny, directing in centers, teaching preschool and elementary education. However, my greatest privilege is homeschooling our son; it’s been a wonderful and successful journey for both of us!
Fun Fact!
We’ve grown a whopping 990 pound pumpkin and an almost 3 pound tomato! Happily Ever Creative is not confined to the classroom or homeschool. Come join us in the garden and kitchen too!
